You have probably seen the commercials for ancestry.com and the DNA tests you can take in order to see "who" you are right? Well I did, and I happily took it. First because I didn't pay for it, my Mother did. She is a Genealogist, and some how my information might help her, don't ask me how because this stuff all confuses me. Secondly, I thought maybe there was a chance that we might find something interesting, as my biological father was never in my life, and I knew nothing about his side of the family.
The test kit arrived at a relatively bad time, it co-insided with my adoptive father's sudden death, so it sat on a shelf for a couple of weeks. When I finally remembered it, I got excited again. I followed all of the simple instructions, and sent it off.
The wait seemed for ever, but it was really only three to four weeks. Then I got the email.
The time had come.........
To see......
WHO AM I????.....
But before we get to that lets discuss the commercial. The person featured had something completely surprising in their background. It absolutely rocked their world. Maybe you have heard you have a small amount of Native American blood in you from a few generations back (this was a story in my family). The possibilities are endless, its so exciting!!!
I open the email, log in, and click the link that is going to lead me to my revelation!!!
100% European...... bum, bum, bum....
Seriously, I could not possibly be more white if I tried. I am 55% Scottish/Irish, 20-ish % Scandinavian, 20-ish% Spainish/Italian.
In ions of history, how could one man, made from so many others possibly be so boring? This was my initial thought. Then I realized that I was the blood of every historically conquering civilization. So when I look at the numbers now, I see 55% Celtic, 20% Viking, and 20% Roman/Spanish Conquistador. Do you know what that equals? 100% Badass.
One Man's opinion in a Small town

This morning there was a rant post on this page because on of the ladies feels wronged, lets see what you think. Her complaint is about the deletion of her previous posts, including her most recent. In the past she had asked for money for a car, or offered to trade work for cash to help her pay for the car. The problem is that when people offer to let her do a small job for cash, she always complains that the person is wanting to pay them to little, or she has a transportation issue, or some other excuse. To be open minded, I originally felt bad for her because initially these complaints are valid complaints that you often hear from people, but over the course of two months she has done nothing but make these excuses. So the administrators of the group decided to start deleting her posts.
The latest post was a list of items screen shotted from walmart.com, that she needed right away, so that she wouldn't die of heat exhaustion "while she tirelessly walks the streets of the town looking for a job". It's one thing to ask for an old umbrella and a water bottle. However her list was everything you could possibly imagine needing to stay cool. The list contained a water bottle, a cooling gel hat, a cooling towel (the kind that you see on tv), a personal water misting fan contraption. Of course this post was deleted as well.
I can't help but feel little compassion for her one page rant, typed out on her smart phone, under a profile that has a pic of a middle aged woman with recently completed tattoos (she brags about their completion on her Facebook page), her newly pierced eyebrow (also another bragging Facebook post), and her freshly dyed purple hair.
Mind you, I have no issue with Tattoos, but the are expensive. I have no issue with piercings, I've had them myself, but again expensive. Lastly I have no problem with her purple hair which she probably dyed at home from a box, this I have also done (my black hair turned red, I was trying for blonde, what a fiasco that was).
I am just pointing out that sometimes there is a reason that people do things, such as the admins of the page deleting her posts. Requesting things on a daily basis, especially things that seem frivolous, on a site that is meant as a last resort for desperate people, is going to get you extra scrutiny.
Lastly, if you are serious about needing a job, dye your hair a "normal color", remove the spikes from your eyebrows, and cover your tattoos. Should you have to? No, its sad that people still judge. However it will improve your chances.

Hillary Clinton and the email scandal
So the FBI says Hillary Clinton lied, and did send "Top Secret emails", but they will not be pursuing charges. During a hearing today the head of the FBI said that Hillary and her colleagues may not have known that it was against the law, therefore no prosecutor would pursue it.
Let's put this in context shall we. If I was driving 100 MPH down an interstate, I would know that it was illegal and that I was breaking the law because no speed limit in the USA is 100 mph. However if I was driving 35 on a city street and did not see the sign that said the limit changed to 30 in a busy section, and got pulled over for speeding could I claim ignorance. I could, but would it help? No it would not because ignorance is not an excuse.
If I posted on Facebook that my boss was a crook, and I had no proof, could he sue me for slander and hurting his business, he could. If it wen to trial and he had proof that he was not a crook, could I claim ignorance to save myself? No.
There are a million examples we could go through, to prove the point. The fact still stands however that the laws do not apply to all equally, as unfortunate as that is.
Here in Texas a teenager drove drunk, wrecked, killed a family. He claimed that because he was rich he had a mental disorder that made him feel as though the law did not apply to him. He got probation. You or I would have went to prison for a nice long while.
The point is that she is a proven liar, and yet there will be no consequences. It is a sad thing, to know that she may be the next President.

Small town issues
A lot of what you will see me post stems from a small town page on Facebook. It is a page that is dedicated to the town, where you can discuss issues and praises, though the later is fairly rare.
Today's issue was a Mother who posted about her son. Her post was a complaint about a local mechanics shop that was supposed to replace a sensor on her son's car. The work was done, but after the son picked the car up he complained that the steering wasn't working properly and the engine had a miss in it. Without getting into too many details about the sensor itself, I can tell you that one would not have anything to do with the other. Long story short an argument ensued and supposedly a gun was pulled by the shop owner. Her son left and then called the police.
Her goal was to trash this businesses reputation.
My thoughts-
1. There are always two sides to every story, never ever forget that.
2. The son had a phone to call the police, but he did not post this information himself. Which seems suspect.
3. A Mother will ALWAYS side with her child in a dispute.
Keep in mind I have no idea if what she said actually happened or not, but it does seem blown out of proportion. It is not normal for a business owner, that has few complaints ( I looked it up), to pull a gun on someone that has a complaint. If a gun was pulled, it was most likely that the business owner felt threatened to the point of needing to protect himself.
Unfortunately we will probably never know the truth because the post was removed within about ten minutes, by the poster, also suspect.

Bryan Williams disrespects the POTUS!
To start this blog off, I guess I will comment on something a little controversial.
Let's talk about Bryan Williams and his comment that Obama's speech delivery was a little Richard Pryor -ish. When initially reading this story, I thought "Who cares?". For one Bryan Williams is a liar and a schmuch. He has no credibility any more what-so-ever. Obama is a bore at best. So that's why the who cares thought. The story is in the responses.
There were two major responses that I would like to address.
The First: "This is a racist comment"- Why? Comparing an African American to a half African American is insulting to who?? Richard Pryor was quite the accomplished man, and (unfortunately) so is Obama. So the question remains, why is this a racist comment? If he had been compared to Gene Wilder, would it still have been racist.
The Second: "He was disrespecting the POTUS!"- So what? When did it become against the law to disrespect the POTUS? Must have been when Obama took office, because when Bush was POTUS, no-one cared.
Feel free to enlighten.
